Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Scarpa Freedom SL crampon options

I'm looking to buy a set of crampons for a bit of ski touring this year.

I have looked at the usual options of Grivel Haute route but was wondering about any specific problems getting them to fit the 2016/17 model.

Any other options of crampons must be either steel or steel/alloy mix as I think a full alloy set will last long enough.

I picked up a set of Petzl Irvis hybrid last year and was well pleased with them, particularly as their first use involved front pointing up a short section of frozen waterfall.

The front sections are bullet proof steel, but the alloy heels are showing signs of a bit of wear, but I think they're an ideal compromise for ski touring.

Half the weight of my steel cramps, and fold up really small: the fixing is Dyneema which is super strong cord
