I think sooner rather than later one of the ADH locals will post. One of them seems to manage a number of SC properties. There are some up market options around the altiport. Its a great sunny resort for skiing with a good mix of runs for all abilities. If you have beginners in the group its v suitable as there is a big bowl of green runs immediately above the resort. ITs not a choclate box pretty but no different to majority of French resorts. There is a great view from the top station. Some pretty tree line skiing around oz en oisans. Majority of the steep stuff is at the top which can be a problem for expertsif for whatever reason they are not letting people up on the glacier (my expereince last March). All in all a pretty good resort. an evening out one of the mountain restaurants takes people back up for dinner in a piste basher- can't remmber the name of the restaurant but we had a really good meal - not sure how old your children but our party had 5 year old and 7 year old. they thought the trip was great

I didn't think it was that expensive but it is a french resort. Its a lovely place and Dan has pretty much summed it up especially get yourself over to Oz for a day.
The only thing I'd add is the Sarenne is worth doing as it is the longest Black run in europe and actually more like a red and get yourself into Smithy's bar one evening

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

You can get self catered chalets at the Altiport through Ski France or Eurogroup. Good quality accommodation, virtually on-piste, handy for the the creche at Les Bergers. Bit of a hike into the main bit of resort though.

In terms of expensive - not by comparison to courchevel or Val d'sere but its a french ski resort. If you want a cheaper option try staying in os en oisans but it will be v quiet pretty in the trees -cheaper accomodation. very safe for children

The black is La Fare and is great, get a pulse gondola back up to vaujany, i do it again and again at the end of the day. The rissou is very 2 star fittings but excellent food. Ski peaks ski guiding is good fun, try to do the champagne run (2200 vert) at least once.

rickyday33, I do manage a several chalets in ADH which are rented on a self-catered basis. I have 4 in the Altiport (although these are not the EuroGroup ones) but they are truely lovely chalets which are all privately owned which makes them much more homely than many of the others. As Lizzard said they are right on the pistes but a little walk into the main resort (10 mins on foot). I do have a couple of others that are more centrally located so if you would like an idea of price please do pm me or have a look on this site www.mountain-logistics.net You may also find a couple of 'Chalet Deltas' on the www.alpedhuez.com site which are pretty 3 bedroom chalets although again not in the centre of the resort but I know a few owners advertise directly on the 'official' ADH site.
