Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Summer Skiing - Tignes

Must congratulate myself for thorough brain-wash job on offspring, instead of Florida or Med beaches (usual summer vacation spots) they insist on going skiing!
Would be grateful to hear from anyone who'd like to share experiences glacier skiing at Tignes.
Thanks!

Bear in mind that glaciers can be in pretty awful condition by high summer. They certainly were last summer, with some having to be closed, so I'd monitor the conditions if possible before committing.

That said, I've enjoyed fresh snow in late August, though this is obviously unusual.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Even late June 2003 was pretty grim. Who knows what it will be like this summer - I understand accumulated snow depth is no better at the moment than at the same time last year (without checking the precise details)... it really depends on the weather over the next 30 days. (More snow forecast over the next few days above 2200m Smile )

If you have kids I'd recommend 2 Alpes over Tignes, it's a 'real' place, feels more like a community rather than a load of cobbled together high-rise buildings, deserted inter-season. And the facilities are better, a greater variety of activities, cheaper, more down-to-earth bars and restaurants.
