Due to my Greek connections, I spent the weekend skiing in Menalo in Peloponnisos. Good snow on the hills, particularly off piste between small trees alhough forest gets very thick lower down. It does get a bit boring after a while due to queues to the main lift, but with a bit of searching around, there is a lot of free snow all for an adventurous skier (Greeks are not very keen on going outside the beaten track, it seems to me).

Mainalo is not a particularly high. The base is at 1,600 and has 8 pistes, out of which two are black, two red and the rest blue. The better black is about 650 metres long only, but descends some 230 metres. The whole area is has trees which makes it one of the more beautiful small ski resorts in Greece. There are a few possibilities to go to back of the mountains, but quite quickly the forest gets too thick. Also, the walking gets a bit tiring.
Mainalo is only a two hour drive from Athens towards Tripoli. Overnight stays in Levidi, Vitina and Dimitsana are all ok.
Kalavrita is a relatively wide area and larger than Mainalo. It has decent intermediate slopes, some possibility to move off from the mostly used tracks, but I only have been able to spend one day there and weather wasn't particularly good.
Personally, I think I still prefer Parnassos (Arachova), the largest and best known ski resort in Greece, though have not had a proper opportunity to ski the whole area there. You may want to look at a good article in one of the last month's French ski magazines about skiing in Greece. The pics of the Arachova off-piste were quite exhilerating.
Karpenissi is actually decent fun as well, with a few good red runs, a couple of blues and one green. It has an excellent atmosphere and some open off-piste very close to the reds.
Ski rentals are not particularly good. Have at least your own boots with you in all the places, and seek to reserve in advance or go early on weekends because half of Athens is out on slopes on weekends and good gear disappear to wrong feet.
