Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Austria Kitzbühel Most Expensive Housing

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Kitzbühel is the most expensive place to live in Austria

The purchase of a detached house is no longer affordable for the overwhelming majority of the Tyrolean population.

This is now confirmed by the real estate brokerage company Remax.

On average, house prices rose by 44.2% between the first half of 2016 and the first half of 2017, ie within a year.

"The reason for this is easily explained: thanks to Kitzbühel Tyrol which has the highest average price for single-family homes among all the federal states, even higher than Vienna, namely 575,384 euros.

This is an increase of 53.3% in five years

@stanton, 575K € doesn't sound excessive tbh. By Munich standards that would be cheap. By Zürich standards that would be very cheap. Reading through that article it seems that 'normal' detached houses are at around 1.6M € in Kitz, which, tbh I find lower than expected. The area I live in south of Munich (Starnberg) would come out a lot more expensive than that.

@Steilhang, Yes by Munich & forget Zurich (no comparison) its cheap. There is one House in Kitzbühel on the market for over €25M .

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I get sent a wide range of properties from agents based in the Tyrol, Salzburgerland and Styria. I certainly agree that most of the properties I get in Kitzbuhel cost considerably more than most other place (in my unscientific observations). It also seems that a lot of the newer properties built in or around Kitz seem to be larger and built to a higher spec than elsewhere.
