Hi looking at going to Bad Hofgastein 2nd April for 1 week, found what looks like a nice hotel Das Goldberg, any body have thoughts on hotel/resort etc

It's above town a bit, next to a piste to the bottom just before the railway. Looked quite fancy.

Never walked it, ski down was a minute or so. Town is then 8-10 minutes to the 'centre.' It's a big spread out place.

I concur. Looks nice but quite trek from 'town', but there's not that much of a town so maybe not an issue?
Ski in (and out) may be a challenge for cautious skiers in poor snow conditions - and April is fairly late season there.

Good resort, been twice. Good tree lined runs. Very good pool/spa complex in town. Not much nightlife or apres action outside the hotels. Free ski buses make getting about easy. Don't know the hotel, but if it's near the station, consider taking the train from Salzburg (Austrian trains are excellent & good value).
