Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

^ This.

And lots and lots of aforesaid padding. Everywhere Very Happy

The MRI would suggest sufficient enough padding me thinks! Seriously though did not buy anything today and will wait to see what physio says. Handily a Wimbledon recommended bloke also works from our local tennis club and travel insurance have said they will pay up to £350 of physio so that's a good few sessions.

Good luck with your continued recovery @Grizzler!

@always29, sounds like as good an outcome as you could have hoped for, given the state of your leg at the end of the Eosb Very Happy. Hope the recovery goes well.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thank you @Tubaski.

Starting physio tomorrow, which is excellent news as I need to crack (hmm perhaps not the best phrase!) on and do something. A week of school runs and work commuting have left me sore and rendered me sofa bound by the husband for the weekend and sitting doing nothing is not in my nature.

Good evening from the free coffee dispensing area with the good folks at Wimbledon Clinics. Xray lady says she couldn't see anything so here's hoping that undisplaced fracture is fixed. No crutches could mean having to stand on the commute again though. Only 315ish days til the only ski trip booked next season, better ramp up the physio - was actually envious of some friends doing a 10k last week, what's that all about?!

@always29, digits crossed Smile Yep, get on with those 1-legged squats, bridges and hamstring curls.
Take a walking pole on the tube/train/bus and wince convincingly at every jolt wink
My sister ran the London Marathon this year. Same day, I managed to get out on my beloved hills (couldn't do the up or down bits, so for first time ever had to get driven in car to the tops) & gingerly shuffled a couple of very robotic kms. God, it was nice to be able just to be there! I get the 10k jealousy - coz that was my Marathon for that day...

Balls, nice Dr says 2 more weeks of crutches. But at least that's 2 more weeks of a commuting seat on southern fail.

@Grizzler, yes the up / down stairs thing still somewhat of a challenge but shuffling at home / office is going remarkably well. You'll get there - and you started from a much, much worse place than me.

Glad it is going well! I was advised to maintain the crutches for going out in busy places quite a while after I could abandon them inside, as much to make sure people don't barge into me.

I snaped my ACL last year, I waited till I was home ,then went to my GP who refered me for an MRI ,this was going to take a very long time to come threw, so I payed to go to a private clinic in Birmingham who identified the snaped ACL ,they gave me a CD and the files were sent directly to my GP who then refered me to a consultant , this all took weeks rather than months, and gave me the ability to get on with making choises early .
I am a tree surgeon ,so I need to be active and stable on my pins ,allso I didnt want a year off work, so I made the desision not to have the opp, I did loads of physio and leg strengthening exercises .
I can honestly say it doesnt effect my at all, I run ,cycle and clime trees with no problems. I do ware a knee brace when Im skiing and now ware one on both knees as a precaution .

Things not to do when you have a crappy leg #1: faint and fall over in a tangled heap of self and crutches after slamming your finger in the car door on the school run. Done more painkillers in the last couple of days than the last 4 weeks and have done no physio yet this week but have a theme park day trip with several mum's and a dozen 5-9 year olds today so will try and fit some squats in to relieve the stress!!

Much happiness - am now crutchless and have been discharged by the good folks at Wimbledon Clinics Very Happy Physio must crack on with vengeance now although not running for a good while. The TPF area is no longer tender, the nerve tingling has stopped and LCL tear healing as lateral movement / resistance a lot better. Dr has recommended a brace for future skiing though - to assess later in the year.
