Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

I was inclined to be generous and suggest this is one of those times that you catch a fish this big and a few hours later it was THIS big, but...
Not, it's bull. There is no dual carriageway to cross between Söll and Scheffau, for a start.
Also what Austrian policeman will have any idea what the Duke of Edinburgh award is?!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

It does sound a bit unlikely.
Though to get to Soll village from the slopes, you do need to cross a main road which goes through an underpass underneath a roundabout. Almost like a dual carriageway...

Wondering why the police interviewed him. Was it because he vandalised the shepherd hut. Having skiied the area i find the story ridiculous but then maybe things were different in 1984😂😂😂😂😂

@denfinella, it's two lane not four though (in fairness there may be slip roads joining at the junction, can't remember). And that's now! In 1984... Well I wasn't born then, but I'm prepared to bet that the road wasn't bigger then!

I seem to remember reading this same story in a UK ski magazine in the late 1980s.

I don't buy it!
If the police were everywhere surely locals were well aware that there had been a number of people killed and others presumably missing? I know communications in 1984 aren't what they are now, but I think the message would have spread.
I tend to find people extremely helpful and willing to go out of their way for you in normal circumstances, in circumstances like these I think they would be doing anything they could for you.
