Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Just got myself some secondhand cross country waxless skis, for classic Langlauf. Any tips as to easiest wax to use? Apparently there's a liquid one you can get - maybe spray on? - which you apply to the whole base, as it helps with the gliding but also stops snow sticking to the scales. Any recommendations as to which one to get - there seem to be thousands out there.?

Toko do a liquid wax with a sponge applicator, but on the fish scale waxless XC skis you can just put any downhill ski wax on. Just make sure you don't put any underfoot on the scales (or a few inches either side of them - Mrs M's have lines that you shouldn't wax between). If you get any on the central section, take if off with base cleaner.
I just do Mrs M's skis with whatever I'm doing our downhill skis with, so just cold wax or warm wax for early/late season extremes, or a general wax like Dominator Zoom mid season.
No need to get too fussy unless you are talking kick wax underfoot on skis without the scales. Then if you have ever considered a downhill racer an anal lady's front bottom, you should meet the average recreational XC skier
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
