Apologies if there is a thousand threads on this but just wanted to check that it's ok to take ski boots on board with BA? Flying to Salzburg via Heathrow on Saturday from Glasgow. Conscious that BA are renowned for loosing luggage on connecting flights, so I'm keen to take my boots on board with me. The boot bag is within the size limits.
Danke

If you're checking in skis as we'll make sure the bag isn't over 23kg!
Put mine and MrsCs in the same bag on Friday eve along with our boots - bad mistake!
After years of moaning about people unpacking and re-packing kit at the check in desk that was me this time 🙁

@boabski, BA's baggage information is straight forward, skis in one bag, boots in another. That "other" bag could be a hold bag or cabin bag depending upon just how much your hold bags add up to. Keep any hold bag under 23kgs, and stick to the size guide for cabin bag.
Example... 2 pairs skis in roller bag (roller bag under 190cms in length) with a few other items (20kgs), ski kit with clothes helmets in another bag (21kgs), both these in hold, two cabin bags with a pair of boots each. No baggage charges.

Also, top tip for BA if you have excess luggage. Book business class on one of the legs and they humour it both ways.

I always like an airline with a sense of humour about excess luggage. And they should honour it too. (Damn spell check??? )
