I went through Lyon last Easter heading to les Arcs. At around lunchtime, when my flight arrived, it was fine, with a 15 minute wait for the luggage to arrive.
I seem to remember there being some sort of ATC strike at the time, so the airport may have been more quiet than usual.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

P3 car park can be manic, apart from that you should be fine.

@compostcorner, Lyon St Exupery airport bigger, better organised than Chambery and less prone to fog/low cloud. Quieter and better organised than the part of Geneva airport I've usually ended up in. Overall I'd say Lyon's the least worst of the three.

When your gate is called to go home make a bee line for it.

We had a big queue to check in on Saturday, but only because our tour operator sent the buses early to avoid the traffic. They all arrived at once, but check in was opened early. Had no problems on arrival or departure, very smooth.
Flown from Geneva loads and never seen chaos though! Other than Easyjet check in, which is what speedy boarding was made for

Flown back from Lyon two or three times in the past few years and have needed a full 2 hours from kerbside to boarding. No chaos as such, but there was a seemingly constant queue from check-in, through security to passport control. As long as you've left enough time, it's smooth enough but patience is the key.

Lyon an omnishambles today . . . . security is a 45 minute queue and heard it can be longer.
