Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

'World's narrowest snow piste' appears in Hemel Hempstead

A group of enterprising snowboarders decided to take 'snow matters' into their own hands and dump a strip of it next to a rail in Hemel Hempstead. The snow came from Milton Keynes Xscape, apparently, and this is what materialised on the front page of the local newspaper:
Hemel Express [reproduced on SCUK site]

Quoting from that news article:
Quote:
A gang of do-it-yourself underground urban snowboarders are behind Dacorum's first artificial 'real snow' slope discovered in a Hemel Hempstead field last week.

Tenacious members of the self-titled Hemel Hempstead JP Crew - a group of twenty and thirty something board enthusiasts stole a march on Hemel Ski Centre's plans [to convert their slope to a snowdome] by setting up their own.

This was clearly the most dramatic thing to happen in Hemel Hempstead last week!

Should Hemel Hempstead have a piste map?

Should Hemel Hempstead be on a map at all?

I thought Hemel Hempstead was wiped off the map after the oil depot blast.

I remember my Dad always used to send his Kodak cine films to 'PO Box 7, Hemel Hempstead' for processing, along with vast numbers of cine enthusiasts around the country.

Hemel was certainly on the map then.

We may mock, but if Hemel Ski Centre does convert to snow it'll probably be swamped - far easier to reach from London than Milton Keynes, though it won't be a very long slope.
