Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Piste Basher driving Serre Che?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My mate has a list of 50 things to do before he's 50. One of which is to drive a piste basher. Do they do this in Serre Che?

@RetroBod, you can go out with a piste basher, but not sure if you can drive it yourself.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@Hells Bells, thanks. Do you have any personal experience of the trips? Do they actually let you drive?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@RetroBod, no sorry, I haven't done any of the trips. I know a few years back there was an area possibly at the top of Casse di Beouf which might have been for the punters to try out the piste bashers, but I haven't seen that recently. Maybe I haven't been looking though. It does look like it is a ride in the piste basher rather than driving one.

Go to Serre Chevalier tourist web. They do piste basher trips including meal on the mountain.
Only problem was they take you up 6ish and get you back 11ish. So bit of a long excursion!!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Courchevel, France, let's you drive a pistebully.

It costs €100-200.

But with such poor snow in the Alps this year, a lot of their activities have been scaled back and may not always be available.

Alternatively, buy one for leisure use. They cost about €20-30k preowned.

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much
