Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Watching Wales V England in Austria

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
We're off to Maria Alm on Saturday and should be in resort, checked in and sorted for hire stuff by kick off at 5:50 (Austrian time). What's the chances of this being shown on normal channels in Austria. I did manage to catch a Wales/Italy game there a few years ago on Hotel TV but that might have been an Italian channel, I can't remember

Failing getting it on non sat TV channel, does anyone have an idea of where in Maria Alm I might get to watch it?

Thanks

Do you have or can you borrow an iPad, that's what I've used before.

Or £35 gets you an amazon fire tablet which I think you can use to set up a VPN connection?

I will have an ipad but that won't help as it's on BBC and that will be blocked abroad. No. 2 is way beyond my capabilities Smile!

I was hoping for some local inside knowledge of it possibly being shown on Austrian TV

If you have £20 and a Mac you can set up the Mac as the VPN server using an app from iTunes. According to Google - I'm hoping to do it myself at a later date. Puzzled

I use Hola Vpn on my Android tablet. Must be something similar for iPad.

Not live though.

Try Filmon.

A quick search revealed there's a company that live streams various sports for approx. €10 a month (in German) but they offer a free month trial. Maybe find someone in the resort with a computer (hotel owner, other guest etc) who is willing to sign up for the free trial.

Irish Pubs are also a good bet for being able to see international sporting events on the box.

e.g. 12 miles away from Maria Alm

I have a VPN app on my iPad - it really is v easy to set up and use. I think I spend <£5 for a weeks access. I also have Sky Go, so a couple of summers ago we watch live Ashes test cricket on my iPad by a pool in Cyprus.

The rugby won't be found on Austrian TV Sad

However, make a trial account on a DNS service.
If you have an android device then I recommend www.smartydns.com as this has an app you can use.
Then all the UK tv apps will work and you could grab it on a free trial too!

Failing that then find something like mobdro (https://www.mobdro.com/) or maybe filmon.

Watched the 6N rugby we weren't actually at in Rome last weekend using Tunnelbear VPN app and iPlayer on my ipad. No problem streaming it through the hotel's wifi.
