Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Off piste course.

I'm planning ahead a bit here having just got back from one trip and off again in about a month but I'm starting to think about some sort of off piste course for next January (hey! That's less than a year)!

I've just returned from Austria where we actually got a day and a half of half decent powder and I've decided that I really want to make an effort to get half good at off piste.

I currently ski to SCGB purple on piste and silver off piste standards and am looking for some sort of course within Europe (ideally Austria) around Jan/Feb. I certainly don't mind making any travel/accommodation arrangements.

Alternatively, if there were enough people interested in this sort of thing, perhaps it could become some sort of Bash/group thing. But I'm relatively new to Snowheads so don't really know how these things work.

Any suggestions? (Polite or otherwise)

UCPA do a basic and advanced off-piste course, each is a week long and includes 5 days of tuition.

Full board (Dormitories) price you are looking at circa £800

Generally really well recommended. I was meant to do one this year but I broke myself already.

There is already a regular bash up and running Smile Offpiste bash each year is open to those who want to start skiing offpiste, as well as more practiced people. It's in March though... It is brilliant, however - I highly recommend it! Absolutely top levels of instructors who will have you loving offpiste in no time. Better chance of deeper snow in March too.

UCPA also very good Smile

Shame. March is never a good month for me.

@esaw1, Keep an eye on Snoworks, they do dedicated courses, next jan is not yet loaded but it won't be long.

They do all inclusive.
If you want to do your own thing then you could do a lot worse than coming to Tignes, there are numerous ski schools that do off piste lessons (they normally call them clinics or coaching or some othe form of marketing hype!). My personal rec would be evo2 in Tignes Le Lac.
