Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Hi all,

I'm planning on driving to Val D'isere (from Geneva) next week. Any tips on where to park for free/cheap for a week?

Thanks,
David

Arriving on a Monday on one of the 2 peak weeks of the year I would say the nearest free parking will be in Bourg. Sorry. I would book on line before all the places have gone.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Is Tignes le Brevieres car park not free in main season? Not very handy for Val D but some buses run between the two towns.
Probably cheapest near Val D is open air car parks at La Daille or Laisinant. But nothing is cheap in Val D.
Also, big snow could mean digging car out. Bourg has some advantages, if you don't need access to car during week and happy to catch bus between Bourg station and Val D.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

About €12 per day in La Daille. Free in Tignes le Brevieres, but you have to pay for the bus to val d so only worth it if you're skiing over

Drop off all gear in Val. Take car to tignes with skis etc. Repeat at end of week.

Got really lucky and found a free spot in La Daille, as soon as I left the spot someone saw me and was straight on his phone, presuming to call his friend about a free spot Smile

Gotta drive back to Geneva tomorrow morning, which is best route to take to avoid the 30 Euro charge or whatever it is is you use the Swiss toll. I need to return the car to car hire place on French side.

Took me over 4 hours getting to Val D from Geneva as didn't know the way

Thanks all
