Poster: A snowHead

We are flying to Geneva on Sunday 5th Feb and still can't decide where to stay due to the snow conditions. Is anyone out in either Cham,Morzi e,Les Gets or Grand Massif? Looking at skiclub etc and various weather channels but realise these can sometimes be a bit negative!!! Looks like some snow is coming and would rather go to Portes du Soliel but Cham looking better??
Please help

Head high if you want a village with snow in it - much of the precipitation this week will be rain below 1500m.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

They were soft and, in places, brown last week, with grass and lots of bare patches on the lower slopes, or indeed, lower pistes were closed. If snow does not arrive to Morzine very soon then you won't be able to ski back from Avoriaz

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Got back from two days in Cham today (skied Saturday and Sunday) - Grands Montets was lovely although there were a few polished icy patches to keep you on your toes. Brevent was also in pretty good nick considering there hasn't been much snow after a reasonable dump a week or two back. Flegere was the worst area of the three for me with thin cover and a lot of rock/stone poking through. However, in true sod's law fashion it appears to be snowing there today and more to come before next weekend - think PdS is looking similar though.
Having not skiied in Cham before I did like the length of the runs but prefer PdS for the simpler access to the pistes from resort.

With the current forecast for the week ahead, I personally wouldn't go near Les Gets if I had an alternative. I'll be surprised if it's not a slush fest.

I was in Courmayeur yesterday and it is in excellent condition (on piste). I suppose this is the result of extensive snow making facilities compared to the Chamonix valley. The pistes in Vallorcine and Le Tour are also in good condition. Not so off piste. Brevent is ok. It's been snowing overnight, but the talk amongst our guides last night was that we'd head back to Courmayeur.
