Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski Boot Rubber Heels and Toes - 3D Print

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My salomon boot rubbers have got so worn that the boots started to loosen in the front binding. Searched high and low in Tignes but nobody had the right toe piece. No better luck in the UK. Have a spare set of same boots as I have very small feet; so bought 2 pairs. So ok for now. However, me and a mate have decided to experiment with 3D printing a set. Main issue I see is making them robust. My boots are only about 4 years old. So amazed when I could not get a new set. Is this a common problem and are manufacturers deliberately changing spec to force skiers to change boots for the sake of a £10 part.

I am not. Just a bit annoyed that 4 year old boots do not have spares. Will check with this lot before we give the idea a go.

What is EU law "recommendation" on this? For electronics it is a 7 year recommendation. not law but flout at your peril.

the trouble lies in the fact that salomon say that 55473201 WALKADIN HEELS FOR SALOMON SKI BOOTS fits the impact and idol boots....BUT it doesn't fit at all

@GlasgowCyclops, there is no such recommendation for ski boots, but most manufacturers have parts for 5-6 years past production
