Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Anyone in St Foy next week? (from 29/01)

Hi

I'm arriving in St Foy on Saturday with the family and wondered if anyone might be interested in meeting up for some powder hunting? I've done a couple of weeks there previously and know some of the more easily accessed off piste. I also might be interested in hiring a guide but the prices are a bit restrictive to do it on my own. If anyone knows of any guides that offer group options, that would be great too. I'm equipped with transceiver and safety equipment.

Cheers

Chris

Hi Chris, I'm out at the same time & also looking for powder, but the conditions & forecast don't exactly look promising... Sad
Might try some guiding depending on what's available, but will definitely be trying to find something fun to ski in the 'freeride zones' in the resort if you're interested?
Will be my first time there & I'll be skiing by myself as my mrs doesn't ski... rolling eyes

Hi Phil, sounds good. I'm not going to book anything before we go, I'll assess the conditions once I'm there before deciding if it's worth the expense of a guide.

I expect the freeride zones will be tracked out but I do know of a couple of other options which only involve a short walk, one of them can involve trees but again it's going to be a case of seeing if the snow cover is sufficient.

Where are you staying Phil? We're with Brilliant White in the apartments just below the nursery slope.

Stopping at Les Fermes and always up for a bit of hiking if it gets to the good stuff!
Not got massive expectations, but you never know...
