Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Morzine après ski

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
I am heading to Morzine soon and wondering about the 4pm-8pm après ski options, either on the mountain or in the village. Seeking somewhere pretty lively, ideally with a live band. Any Morzine locals or regulars have any advice? Many thanks.

Most of the après bars are either in the strip down from the bottom of the Pleney slope or at the head end of the valley, so take a stroll and find one you like.

Best for live bands is often Dixie's (head of valley), especially if the Dixie Micks are in town. Up that end of town Bar Robinson's worth a drink (OAP staff, comedy opening hours, deadly Mitzig). Also Mamas' take away in that area (better than most where I live in the UK).

In the main drag you have Haka and the first wind of The Tibetan. Right below the Pleney La Tremplin has a bar but only really kicks off on a Wed or Thurs (forget which).

One slightly left field option is the Bec Jaune micro brewery and bar. Slightly different pace of après, just remember to try the Scotch Eggs - hot and with the yoke still runny.

+1 for the Bec Jaune, especially if you like craft beer and/or cocktails.
They had decent music playing last week, but not live.

We did run into a live band in La Chanterelle which is on Mt Chery Nord (far side of Mt Chery in Les Gets).
Some great Johnny Cash, Stones, Elvis covers.
Were told they are playing quite regularly in the afternoons, so not Apres Ski as such.

+1 for Bar Robinson - old owners are no longer there but it has been passed down the family and seems exactly the same, except you now get a smile when ordering a drink.

I've seen live music in the Tibetan but I'm not sure how regularly they have this on. It's usually pretty good atmosphere in there from about 5pm, onward, anyway.

We visited a place up near the Prodains lift before Christmas called La Kinkerne. They had some live music (an act called Remedy Sounds) which was fantastic. The bar got very lively (in a good way). I'm not sure how often they have live music either but if Remedy Sounds are on I would highly recommend it.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thank you to all for the advice. Raising the anticipation levels!

Provided they don't have the lady's front bottom DJs they had for their opening party. Not heard such misogynistic nonsence since a Donald Trump speech.

They have moved and increased the number of toilets for this season though.

Yep was great, good music last season when we went, a mixture of house, electro and tech.
