Would your post have been less worthwhile if you had said "Amazing Kitzbuhel slalom result!" ? Was it essential to put a spoiler in the thread title? Many people would have known that Ryding came 2nd from what you said. Anyone who wanted to comment would have known exactly what the thread was about if you had said 'amazing slalom result', and those who wanted to wait (not me, I followed the FIS live timing) could have done so without having to avoid snowHeads for four hours.
Well, I for one only know that the there's a high-ranking UK skier thanks to this thread [edit: two of them!]; I didn't and wouldn't have read the other obscurely-titled ones, and would probably have never found out otherwise since I don't generally follow the relevant news channels. It's now clear that there's a convention about these things, and a not unreasonable one at that... but I'd never heard of it and so could easily have committed the same faux pas.
So, I have to say that I come down on the side of those who say that if you really don't want to hear the result by accident the don't log onto a forum where the uninitiated amongst us might let the cat out of the bag. (During parts of the olympics I turned web browser and phone off!)

Back to the skiing, I seem to remember Bartleskis run looked like he was about to win, but for a mistake at the very end.I don't remember highest the top ten in any other races.what was the highest finish from one of the Bell brothers?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

@andyrew, the amount of hours I spend sat in front of Eurosport and the number of hours I spend watching youngsters training means I'm relatively serious (if not very knowledgeable - I leave that to Jnr). I watched the first run live, but the second wasn't on British Eurosport live (was on Eurosport player). I kept flicking between tennis and snooker while trying to find a dodgy online feed and pretending that my proxy was Austrian in order to watch ORF. I ended up watching the live timing on the FIS website and swearing whenever the ticker said "TV break".
Ahh, and you were doing so well too. This is where you made a mistake. Watch German Eurosport off Astra 1, It's Free, and has much much less darts, snoooker and tiddlywinks. Pretty much wall to wall snow sports over the weekend.
@cameronphillips2000, quick look on Wikipedia shows graham bell finishing 12th at kitzbuelh in the downhill, and martin bell finishing 8th in the downhill at Calgary 88 Olympics, for what its worth chemmy's best finish is 7th in super combined and 9th in downhill
I am going to trawl through to see other results from the baxters et al!!!
"After the training win, Martin was given a new pair of skis by our suppliers Fischer, but didn’t use them straight away. I asked Martin if I could use them the following week in Leukerbad, Switzerland. I came 10th, my best ever placing in a World Cup downhill. Martin congratulated me, and took his skis back."

@andyrew, we need a dish for that.
You'll get to see more forums and be part of the best ski club on the net.

costs peanuts, easy to fit, can be at ground level if you have a decent view South East. A suitable receiver can also be very cheap.
Mine cost a little more as I have a motorised dish as I watch a lot of French telly off Fransat. TV8 Mont Blanc is my local channel - lots of snow porn

Martin Bell
Best placing – 5th in the 1986 World Cup downhill, Åre, Sweden.
8th place in the Men's Downhill at the 1988 Winter Olympics
Graham Bell
Leukerbad, Switzerland, 10th.
And Konrad Bartelski "lost" by just over a tenth of a second, brushing his back bottom after the last jump.
Great video - down a run that is legendary to Snowheads. Perhaps, at the BB this year, a hundred Snowheads should ski it together and all do a bum touch on the ground whilst skiing the final compression as a mark of respect for Konrad
And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Hate to do this after all the fuss but .... can someone please correct the spelling of his name in the thread title??
So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

You know it makes sense.

You lot are mental. If you dont want to watch it. SWITCH IT OFF.
Now stop arguing and savour some of the finest slalom ever from a GB skier.
Thank you.
Otherwise you'll just go on seeing the one name:

Imagine logging onto a football forum and expecting the day's results to not be discussed until after the conclusion of Match Of The Day later that evening.
Just like the bikeradar cycling forum where one can happily log onto the website and discuss all manner of things about pro racing without any danger of finding out results of something one might have recorded for later
