Poster: A snowHead

Hi Wonder if you lovely lot can help me out with on some advice on a ski jacket as you have on many other aspects of skiing, Im normally happy to pay more for good quality outdoor gear that going to do a good job. After about 8 years My old North Face Jacket was really showing its wear, despite being re waterproofed it has still been letting in some water especially around pockets and zips and I think its time to replace it.
So I started looking around for a replacement, Saw a nice Salomon one for £260 that seemed a good product, ordered it and its just doesn't fit me very well, and for £260 I need to love it, Cant really find any others I like the look of either,
So My eye was drawn to Dare2B they have a jacket in the sale that seems good quality for just £60. Its Ared V02 10000 polyester 4 way stretch fabric, Taped seams, YKK zips, under pit zips, inner cuffs with thumb holes, removable snow skirt and hood. polyester lining and lots of pockets.
My main concern is warmth, but I do have a good slim fit down gillet I could also wear,
Any experience with the Brand? or the materials used? Realistically this will only be used for 1-2 weeks on piste per year,
Thanks in Advance

4 way stretch Dare2be is pretty good I've had 60+ days out of successive pairs of pants. You suffer on build in the end e.g. zippers or colour fade but for features per £ top value.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks Dave, Its not my normal outlook but even if I get 2-3 seasons for that price I'll be happy, Then maybe when I come to replace it in a few years there will be something in a higher price bracket that ticks all the boxes that I will happily invest in.

I have a 15k rated softshell jacket which I use for ski, mountain, walk etc - very pleased with it, also a £60 sale job. Also some black basic ski trousers which Mr G tests to extremis on his board and they're still going fine. So potential for reasonable kit, certainly, if they fit and meet your overall design and other requirements.

I have the dare2b savant jacket (think it's the 20k), I was told that it's basically based on schoffel design. I find it to be the warmest jacket I have ever had and a bargain at 80 quid

+1 on Dare2b. Have 4 way stretch jacket & pants 20 000 rated. They breathe really well, are waterproof, worm and so far are holding out pretty well, and I put a lot of strain on them. Great value for money!

I've recently bought a MW jacket - I tried that one on but bought a slightly different one. Haven't tried it yet but it seems decent!

Have ordered the Jacket, Thanks very much for all the advice seems pretty good reviews. Sports direct and Tkmaxx did have some good options but think the Dare2b is the best for me this time so have ordered. There seems quite a lot of good stuff in there Clearance section at the mo if anyone is looking for budget stuff.
