Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Are Single Male Shares A Thing Of The Past?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
My daughter this year has decided that due to her GCSE's this year she doesn't want to go skiing at half term Sad

I've already been away to Cervinia last week with the last of my mates who still ski and am lookign at my next trip which I'm planning for the end of February and it's a while since I used traditional chalet operators for a weeks trip on my own. In the past I've been with Ski Olympic and Le Ski who did "single male shares", I know Ski Olympic have stopped doing this but not sure about Le Ski. Does anyone know if any other chalet operators still do this?

For a bit of background I'm a 55 year old intermediate skier who ski's from first to last lift but still enjoys a few beers.

Hi Steve,

I know Skiworld used to, Neilson had a forum and there is skipals too if it's still going.

Plus On here and the various bashes that everyone raves about.

Off in 2 weeks with guy I met with skipals, his mate who we both skiied with a couple of years ago and one of the group he went with last year so sure you'll have no problems hooking up with people to go away with.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you can wait until mid-April then the EoSB would be a good option, although I think it's pretty close to full. Always someone to ski with/drink beer with.

@stevew, the bashes cover this perfectly - any reason not to go for one of them?

@stevew, still a couple of places in the Bellevista on the Birthday Bash, 4 February. I think there may still be places left on the Pre Birthday Bash, 28 January if you're happy to be housed in the B & B next door to the main hotel. snowHead

OK fair enough. That rules out the EoSB Sad

@NeddySkiGoon's information on The Birthday Bash and PreBBWUW is good Wink

Further...
In March, GnaBuG, Gnarly But Gnice (coming soon).
The SOPiB is technically full but Scarr is looking for someone to relinquish his place to.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'intermediate'. If that means happy with red runs then GnaBuG is ideal snowHead If it means happy with black runs, the instruction on the SOPiB could be what you need to take the next step Toofy Grin

@NeddySkiGoon, @admin, had initially looked at the Birthday Bash and Pre week but clashes with wife's significant birthday and SOPIB is too close to a weekend with flights to Geneva I've got booked. Don't know why I wrote end of March initially as it's end of February I'm after, I've changed my initial post.

Buy wife a holiday in Italy for her significant birthday and bring her on the Pre BB. Toofy Grin snowHead

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

The end of Feb is a very busy time (lot of holibobs in Holland and Denmark and maybe Belgium at this time).
We had a week booked out about 9 months ago to cover this week (and believe me, it must be a busy time for me to get booked out!) So you may find it a little harder than normal to search out a single occupancy or shared double. It may be worth looking at half-board hotels with single rooms. There are quite a few around here (use booking.com or another type of booking site).
The week before (18th) is half-term for half the UK and also a big holiday week in Austria and Germany so you may need to get in quick somewhere for that week too!

So if you're just off somewhere snowy come back and post a snow report of your own and we'll all love you very much

I see that GnaBug coming shortly meant next morning Very Happy

I've had a look at this and it probably does work dates wise. Just looking at the practicalities, what are the transfer costs likely to be be; looking at the Jet2 flight from Manchester that arrives 11:20 and departs the following Saturday at 12:05. Will also PM you this.

 You know it makes sense.

Probably worth checking out last years thread for a few of the simpler answers, add a bit to money to allow for rate change on the pound.

If you click the "I'm Interested" button on the thread and commit (not to any of the money bits though) then it usually opens up the travel details of the others, which lets you see the other flights people are taking.
