Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

@Galwaymet, welcome to Snowheads snowHead

When are you planning to go? Early February through to end of first week of March, is school holidays and both busy and expensive. If you can travel in the next couple of weeks, or after mid-March, you'll have cheaper options. Flights from Ireland can be difficult on a package, so perhaps see what flights cost to Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon and the cost - if you're on your own, a transfer can also cost. Let us know your circumstances, and we can help a bit more

directski.com are doing a few cheap trips with direct flights to Lyon from Dublin at the minute but rely on you filling an apartment with four. Anyway, the flights are scheduled flights so you might end up being able to do it cheaper yourself.

Thanks for the advice .
My wife and I plan to go in the next couple of weeks or mid march .
We do not mind doing a stop over in london or somewhere else if it means big savings.
We will also be renting equipment at the slopes .

Toplight.ie can do seven nights from Dublin on 18 March in a self catered apt for €599 which doesn't feel too bad. Are you stuck to Val Thorens?
