Poster: A snowHead

Have a day to kill in Cluses tomorrow - anyone know where would be best to ski (within about 30 mins drive)?
Thanks

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Avoriaz is way more than 30 mins from Cluses. Morzine is about 40 mins. Les Carroz d'Araches would get my vote.

Thanks @JoyZipper, was thinking either Les Carroz (20mins) or Les Gets (30mins)? Haven't been to either, both seem to be getting about the same amount of snow at the moment
Anyone know of any reason to go one of the other?

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Flaine was fantastic today, tomorrow will be clear with about a foot of fresh powder, thats where I'm off to.
Les Carroz is easier to get to but I don't know if all the pistes are linked yet. BTW It has just stopped snowing and I can see the skies are clear

@Seahoob, thanks, so maybe best idea is drive to Les Carroz and get the Grand Massif pass (if everything is open)?

If "everything" is open I would go to the old Les Molliets carpark (now Les Carroz 1500!) and get the new speedy lift up to Tete des saix and into the Flaine bowl.

I'm not out there so all I can say is "ferme" = shut "prevision" = "planned" i.e. due to open . So, no, on the basis of that I would drive on to Flaine - it s about 45-55 minutes from Cluses. I dont think you would need chains but winter tyres would be good. Then park at Flaine Foret parking , get your pass at the Flaine Foret ticket office, plat du jour at L'epicea or Blanchot , fill your boots. Just get up a bit earlier and have your breakfast on the way. Le Fournil du Village just by the church in Les Arraches for a coffee and a sticky bun with local workers in the way in from the village.
