Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Courmayeur to Cervinia?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Hello

I've got family going to Cervinia on the 22nd Feb and I was hoping to get a late deal to join them however, there doesn't seem to be any deals out there under £600! I've seen a holiday to Courmayeur and the lift pass includes 2 days in Cervinia, I was wondering if anyone knew how easy is it to get to Cervinia, is there a direct bus from Courmayeur?

Thanks

wonderwoman, hmmmmm... don't know but I would imagine that trip would take over an hr, 90 mins even....if the buses connect .......and this isn't Switzerland who make a point of matching services
The ride up from Chantillon would take 45 mins by bus at a decent guess and you have to get from Courmayuer to Chantillon... then there would be the issue of how late the bus goes down from Cervinia...??

I may be wrong, but it doesn't sound so good a journey to me.

I would shadow their travel arrangments and DIY the hotel

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

JT, Thanks - that sounds awful journey, I'll give that a miss. I'm looking into DIY but having problems with accomodation, seems to be very expensive.

Are you sure about that? IIRC, the lift pas at Courmayeur gives you two days in any resort in the Aosta valley, and 2 days in Chamonix, but I don't recall Cervinia being mentioned? Looking at it on the map, yes it's in the Aosta valley, but I reckon you'd have to take a bus down to Aosta itself then another one up the Valtournenche valley to Cervinia which would take quite some time

Crystal website says - "Lift pass covers all lifts in Courmayeur, 1 day each in the French resorts of Flaine and Chamonix plus 2 days in the other Val d'Aosta resorts (La Thuile, Cervinia, Pila, Gressoney and Champoluc)". I'm hopefully going to book a DIY package to Cervinia, I managed to find local flights, transfer and half board hotel for £540, not the cheapest deal in the world but I really want to go - just got to persuade the other half now.
