Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Junk or repairable - K2 Rictor 90 XTi

On my last trip I seem to have developed a rather severe crack in my ski.

It seems to be right through the core/top sheet but not through the edge/base. Light pressure on the front of the ski can open up the crack.

What are peoples opinions on whether it's worth repairing or not? I'm a competent DIYer and have made GRP canoe repairs and CFRP parts from scratch before but never attempted a ski repair (never needed to...). If there're thoughts it's salvageable professionally i'd certainly consider that too. The rest of the ski is in great condition.

Basically, should I bother at all or just sort a new ski? See below for photos:

Thanks, Ben

I've fixed a fair few delaminations in my time as a ski man, that is more a breakage and probably terminal.......
Have a go by all means with some super strength epoxy, open the crack right up and work the epoxy in, but make sure to give it a good testing before you ski on it, you should be able to stand on the tip when the ski's flat on the floor or it's probably not strong enough.......

Looks like its gone straight through the wood and all layers, and is just hanging together on the ptex base. I think the only thing to salvage is the bindings.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like I'm in the market for a new set...

Any recommendations for replacement? I ski a couple of weeks per year, always try to get to some lift served off-piste but most skiing is done on-piste.
I've been looking into the Salomon QST92/99's, skied a set of Q98's last year for an afternoon and enjoyed them.
