@jellylegs, ooh, when was that taken? I went in the late 70s and again recently; I didn't recognise it at all.

A fairly easy one I think. Its a pretty mainstream resort.

I wouldn't have recognised it either, although I maybe should have done, for I used the single seat chair on the Streuböden on my first visit to Fieberbrunn in 1965. I even managed to have that lift stopped for me when on one wild, snowy day with eyes closed, I missed the top and was going round the wheel to come down again

Taken in 1985. My first ski trip! I remember sitting on that single chairlift and thinking how quiet and peaceful it was. Noise was suppressed by the recent snowfall. Fond memories.

My abiding memory of Fieberbrunn lifts is of that long t-bar with the bend in it. One snowy day the t-bar slipped up my back making my C&A jacket and t-shirt ride right up but I managed to cling on until the top, bent double, arms aching, with the snow landing on my bare back and drifting down the back of my trousers. Fun times. |
I too remember the T-bar with the (roughly) 90° bend - exciting. I was always impressed by the complicated corner tower on such lifts. That lift with the bend which went up by the Streuböden has long since gone onto a straight track up through the trees to the Wildalpgatterl restaurant. It is now a button tow. There was another T-bar with a bend in it in Fieberbrunn on the Doischberg. But that too is gone, replaced by a gondola.
