@BoardieK, I didn't notice the flag! Would've been a good clue. I looked for ski areas directly north and south of Malbun, with roughly north facing slopes and a drag lift at the bottom. It was a toss-up between Bivio and Bodele, so I was a bit lucky.

Les Houches, Meleze Chairlift, La Cha resturant just out of view bottom left. Aravis mountains in the background. Cordon, Combloux and Jaillet (and a corner of St Gervais) ski areas vissible. Sallanches in the Valley below, were Dystar Skis are made.
Sorry, this is my back garden. I am sitting at the base of this mountain (this is the backside)... I should have been skiing there for closing day last sunday!
