Not Hintertux, the cafe looks like something you would get in Scotland but isn't.
Looks pretty baron, above the tree line with a big gondola pylon in the background.
Hills look a little bit like Trysil but I'm not too confident with that guess.

@richard64 It's yours, good shout. Worth a 2 day visit if you ever happen to be in that part of the globe. Very cheap compared to the Alps. These pics were taken in Feb 18 and the snow cover wasn't great. But they did hold a leg of the FIS Snowboard Champs on the slope in the second pic. The terrain on the left of the second pic is great for some short skin or boot runs but you need the snow to be spot on. The surface is all volcanic spoil that will rip your bases off if it is too thin.

Your experience at Palandoken matches mine, I was there for a couple of days in March 2010 and the snow cover then was thin. At that time it was seen as Turkey's best ski area, but having since been to Sarikamis a little further east although smaller it offers better skiing and the surrounding scenery is unique. If you are looking for something different from the Alps and heading east I would suggest from experience that Georgia offers a lot more.
At this point I have tried to upload/paste a photo but cannot see any facility to do so. Can someone help with advice on how to attach a photo in order to keep the thread going?

I upload to imgbb.com then choose full BB code linked or something from the options, paste that into a post and delete out the [URL] bits.. you might need to use the preview thing a few times to get it right..

The reference to Georgia in my earlier comment wasn't an intentional 'red herring'. Not Goderdzi.
