Hi all,
First ever trip to St Anton next week, very excited. Couple of questions for those with some knowledge of the resort.
Can you downlift on all of the cable cars/gondolas?
What are the buses like that link st anton and Lech now that the new lifts have gone in and 'closed the loop'?

Yes you can downlift on all to town.
Some people still take the postbus (fare) from St Anton to Lech because they do not like skiing to Rauz.for some reason.
At the moment its not possble tovdki between Zurs & Lech so you have to take a free bus anyway.
The above situation hopefully wiill change after Wednesday/Thursday storm.

With the new link, no free buses between Alpe Rauz (skiarea St.Anton-Stuben) and Zürs anymore.
The new connection is a lift-lift connection itself, there is no piste getting back to Alpe Rauz from Zürs.
Should you want to get from Zürs to Lech without skiing the Madloch route, the free blue bus (nr 3) will run all season

Some extra info having just come back and needed to use the bus due to lack of snow.....
It's the 92 bus that runs direct from St Anton to Lech. If not skiing at Zurs then this is the only bus you would need.
I think it runs every 30 mins from the main bus terminal in St Anton in the mornings and at the end of the day. In the middle of the day it only runs every hour. Depending on where you are staying you can also jump on and off at Kohlereck, in the Oberdorf area as you head up the hill out of St Anton.
If you take the bus then ask for a return ticket which is cheaper. 5 Euros for a single ticket and 7.5 Euros for a return.
It's pretty quick - takes about 35 minutes to get from St Anton to Lech.

Thanks for the responses guys. Could any of you tell me the easiest way to ski from lech to Zurs and vice versa? Assuming this snow we are currently getting means it all opens up.

Okay, this thread was about StAnton/Lech but to answer your Lech/Zurs question:
- If all is open, from Lech you ride up the Rufikopf tram and ski over to Zurs.
- From Zurs you can take the upper Madloch chairlift and then down the advanced intermediate White Ring route with lots of traffic down to Zug and then back up to the Lech trail system.
The alternate is to take the regular blue (free) bus from Zurs to Lech.
- Coming from StAnton take the crossover lift and proceed as above.
- Returning from Lech, take the Blue bus to Zurs or the Rufi tram ski route to Zurs to then get on the crossover lift.
Taxi or Yellow (Post bus) if you are too late for the ski lifts and blue bus

From Lech to Zürs: Rüfikopf cablecar from Lech centre. From Rüfikopf there are two pistes, a red on and a blue one, which both end at a short towlift, after which one easy piste (no other options) brings you to a sixseater "Trittalp" which goes to the top of Hexenboden, from which several pistes, red and blue go down al the way to Zürs.
From Zürs to Lech is definitely more challenging.
From Zürs you either take Zürsersee quad or Seekopf quad, both going to Seekopf. From here directly down to Madlochbahn, twoseater.
From Madloch a long route, mostly groomed, but definitely dark-red brings you to either Zug, from where you can go up to the easy Lech-Oberlech skicircuit, or directly and easier to the village of Lech. This last route does not end at a lift, you'll need to walk some 3 minutes, straightforward and easy, into Lech-centre where the lifts go all sides up
For both Lech-Zürs and Zürs-Lech you can not go down by lift.

All Seekopf side was closed Wednesday & probably Thursday due to storm force winds.
New Flexenbahn was doing its job , not sure what it was designed to withhold in severe wind !!
