Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

La Plagne - restaurants, child friendly runs, picnic spots

Hi

Off to La Plagne (based in Champagny) for the first time in ages and would like some advice on good child friendly runs (blues), recommended restaurants/bars for hot chocolate or easy lunch or good picnic spots (bearing in mind the warm weather...)

Any tips and recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks....

If you're staying in Champagny then definitely head for Borselliers - gorgeous sunny terrace with nice food and vin chaud! Mmmmmmm

Tunnel is a favourite, if a little busy. Rolling blue, although when I was there as a beginner I wasn't keen with the last bit down to Plagne Bellecote as a bit steep/icy/busy. The couple of runs off the Arpette lift are nice flowy blues too, although again take the same last bit down to Bellecote.

I'm a big fan of the runs down to Les Coches too, they'll probably be a bit bare at the lower level but as they're important to keep the Les Arcs link open they Mont Blanc is likely to be the best looked after piste in the resort!
