Hello everyone,
Me and the Mrs have booked the week off work to go skiing on the 18th of March. I've been plenty of times, the girlfriend has had 2 weeks in resort both times I have been teaching her due to lack of funds (managed to stay together despite that). The previous 2 years we went to Val T, then to Tignes last year. I'm looking for some different ideas of where to go this year, needs to be very good for beginners and ski schools as well as snow condition. Perhaps due to going later in the season might need to be a higher resort? We plan on going for a catered chalet rather than self catering, on a bit of a budget due to the extra cost of a weeks ski school for her.
Any recommendation would be great!

@WillowWilson, have a look at snowtrex.co.uk or ski-planet.com (there are others) we have used both of these. Site gives good info on suitability etc. You should get a good deal for your dates as out of school holidays. Welcome to

18th March isn't that late, really, especially as recent winters have had more snow later in the season. If funds are tight, then Austria and Italy are generally better value than France.
If you want slightly more left field absolute bargain I would heartily recommend Slovenia.
Www.Rekahisa.com their all in half board catered chalet breaks take some beating. The food is excellent and the skiing good, especially for beginner/ intermediate level.

La Plagne is chock full of decent runs for beginners. Plenty of cruisey blues to play around on.

+1 for Austria. Loved every holiday there, the people are fantastic and the skiing is great. Snow should be fine across the majority of resorts.

If you can fly from Gatwick, then you could go to Åre, Sweden pretty cheap. Easyjet rtn flight £50, rtn transfer £50, self catering accomodation as little as £100/week each, week ski pass £180. Group lessons 3 hrs/day £45. You can book all through skistar.se. March is a good time of year to go.

I'm looking for fully catered chalets, but thanks for the idea. Are there any companies that specialise in chalets that include flights and transfers at a fairly reasonable price?
