@VolklAttivaS5, I've stayed in both. Argentiere better for access to the best skiing, but can get very cold at night. Chamonix better for shops, bars and socialising.

@AndAnotherThing.., really enjoying the change of scene. Lots of new resorts, more sunshine, and more open also less claustrophobic. It's not the same on the social side, but I have popped over the hill a couple of times, including Friday when I had a little skin up to Loriaz for lunch with my daughter. I think we have had the best of the snow too.

Hello All,
I'm a mid forties guy who's coming to Chamonix regularly and in need of off piste/ski mountaineering partners. I've done a fair bit of ski-touring and off piste along with some easy mountaineering (e.g. MB via 3 monts route, regular matterhorn route, cosmique arete) and easy steeper skiing (ENSA, cosmiques, normal route tour ronde). I hoping to find some people for some ski mountaineering (without killing myself!) and obviously some nice powder skiing when the opportunity presents.
Might I find some people here?

@robert44, there's a group of us coming out to Chamonix from Sat 4th - Sat 11th (I'll actually be there from Tues 7th - Sun 12th) so if you still want someone to hang out with, give us a shout! The others will be in lessons for some of the time and I might be boarding rather than skiing (haven't decided yet) so you might not want to be seen on the slopes with me! But we're definitely planning some après so you'd be very welcome to join us...

In Chamonix from this Saturday (11t h) to the 18th. We (three) would be up to meet up for a ski and /or some apres. We normally ski visible off piste and try to move around the valley a bit e.g. we'd like to go to Courmayeur on Wed maybe, etc
