Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Boot size

Hi folks.

I have some ski boots that I bought a few seasons back. They have been used for about 4 days in total, and I'd like to try get rid of them.

Only thing, is that I'm not sure on the size. There is something etched on the inside of the plastic shell (right at the top on the inner rim and on the highest flap) that says 26.0 - 27.5, which I assume is the mondo? But it doesn't seem right that there is such a large range. I thought that the mondo would be just one size and not a range?

I usually use a UK size 11 shoe (which I understand is usually bigger than the mondo) - does this match up?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi @liveflex8, welcome to Snowheads.
If you're looking at the numbers stamped on the cuff rather than the lower part of the boot that probably indicates that the component you are looking at is for any boot in that size range. For example my boots are 25.0/25.5 but the inside of the cuff is stamped 240-255.
Look for numbers on the bottom part of the boot. You should see a BSL (sole length) in mm, and either a foot length or foot length range which might be, say, 27.5 or 27.0/27.5 or 275 etc. The BSL will be the longer figure by several cm.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Thanks for the response!

There is a 317mm stamped near the bottom, which I assume is the BSL? I can't see any other size markings anywhere else Sad

For reference, these are Atomic MTech 90 boots.

My old Atomic boots (different model) have it stamped on the bottom just behind the front sole plate.
Another option is to take the liner out and have a look if there's any indication on that - there probably is

That did it - on the bottom of the inner was the size - 27.5

Thanks Tubaski!
