Poster: A snowHead

Being the proud(ish) owner of an 11 week old, the neurons are not firing as fast as they could, so I wanted to check others' experiences...
Awaiting confirmation of next seasons' trip accommodation so I can book flights
EasyJet £119 pp, Monarch £114 pp, Swiss £103 pp.
All for similar flight times and baggage allowances. Is there something I am missing or should I grab it while it lasts?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I've found in previous years Swiss can be the cheapest , and they go out from London City

Provided the baggage allowance is similar as you say (note Swiss Economy Light fare is cabin baggage only, Swiss Economy Classic Fare includes hold baggage) then go for it! You also get an included sandwich and a piece of chocolate on Swiss of course.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Thanks all, the deed is done =0)
I guess the "demand" lies with the budget airlines, as people book there first. I'd checked skyscanner and Swiss weren't near the top, but that's cos their prices include the baggage, maybe...
Now to create countdown timer for holibobs....

To resurrect this again: does anyone know if I need to pre-book my free ski eqpt baggage, or just take it along?

I've always just turned up at the airport with my skis when flying with Swiss.

Swiss is often the cheapest way to Zurich; I, too, just turn up with my skis. Never been a problem.

@EarthWindandWater, I don't think you need to - it is included in the price - but I always contact them to let them know that I am bringing skis and they put a note on your reservation. I'm not sure if this makes any difference, but unlikely to cause any harm.

Yep on Swiss you don't need to pre-book the free ski eqpt carriage, just turn up. Lufthansa (who actually own Swiss) has slightly different rules on its flights - although they do give you free ski carriage also you have to phone them after making the online booking and they make a note on your booking info that you are taking skis.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

Another tip if you're booking with Swiss, always check the cost of business class vs economy. The business class price includes luggage etc, and often costs just £1 more than economy once you add everything up.
And Swiss business class is very nice indeed
