Poster: A snowHead

With the Italians about to host the Winter Olympics at Turin there's a neat anniversary today: 50 years exactly since the Cortina Games of 1956.
This report from the independent Olympics website Around the Rings.
[it has a heavy copyright notice - hence no extracts]
I've only ever spent one day skiing in Cortina - a fashionable resort in the Dolomites - which has some very nice mellow and relaxed skiing. Anyone else been there?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

There's no way I would describe the 'Lords of the Rings' - as the IOC have been characterised - as Lib Dems!

David@traxvax, Why was the skiing crap?

Toni Sailer won his three Olympic gold medals (downhill, GS, slalom) in Cortina, like Jean-Claude Killy at Grenoble in 1968. Sailer probably came away with slightly happier impressions of the skiing than david@traxvax!
