aha, was this poster hoping to get us to mention this device, and promote it? Who cares about bobbles on their ski Jacket?

Nice, low level personal abuse for asking a simple question, what a lovely person you must be.

As I've said, it was just a simple question, I noticed a bit of bobbling and clearly unlike many people here I don't desperately like to ruin jackets, I'd prefer them to last a few seasons. I was just wondering what others did to stop rubbing/edges catching their jackets.
Clearly some people have experienced the same thing, many haven't, that's cool, good for you, I was only asking!!!

@vjmehra,
I haven't really come across @snowbandit, on these boards. Please don't think he is remotely representative of posters here. That kind of garbage is very uncommon here fortunately.
That said - I'm in the camp that says you are carrying your skis wrong somehow! It should only be the top sheet and the toe piece of your binding that touches your shoulder and neither of these should be sharp or abrasive.

I think I'll have to get someone to take a picture in case I am carrying them in a strange way!
That said, will also try to make sure I carry them as people suggested!
It may well be that the scuff marks/damage to my jacket was caused on one occasion and I just never noticed previously.

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

@albob, I am not a big fan of such things as in crowded situations the skis are not well observed nor controlled, whereas if they are carried properly, then folk surrounding are far less likely to get hurt.
My last jacket had some scuffing on the shoulders but that was after 12 seasons and about 600 days wear...
Some models of ski have top sheets that can get a bit cut up on the top surface (Atomic had a few like that for a while, may still).

You know it makes sense.

UANM -- you are quite right of course ; over the shoulder, tips down is the only way. Think my second suggestion would work well tho' :
Dual purpose - Protects and Secures !!

Interesting you mention Atomic as I've definitely skiied on some before, didn't notice the tops being cut up, but it's not impossible!

But maybe there is a small market for a stylish leather stick on shoulder patch, i knew saving the leather from the back of that old sofa would come in handy one day. To the workshop! Prototypes at the birthday bash, testers and investors needed 👍
