Poster: A snowHead

Have a chance to get away next weekend, Friday to Monday, the main issues being resort height and transfer time. Geneva then hiring a car and heading to Tignes seems my best bet. Are there airports I'm missing that are closer to high altitude skiing?

Innsbruck for Hintertux (or even Munich if you are hiring a car as there will be more flight options).

Tignes opens for the season on the 26th. There is approx 60cm at resort level, so it's a good choice.

Argentiere is scheduled to be open, that's only 1h15 drive from GVA. What's more, it will be its first day, so there's a reasonable chance of fresh tracks...

I dragged the family to Solden this week last year for 3 days skiing. Was great fun but quite far from Munich.

Zwölferkogel in Saalbach-Hinterglemm opens for the weekend (Sat & Sun only) this weekend and next weekend. Asitz in Leogang is also open.
Fly to Salzburg, hire a car, stay in Zell am See, which is just over an hour from Salzburg. Depending on available time, ski on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier on Friday, Zwölferkogel in Hinterglemm on Saturday, Asitz on Sunday and Kitzsteinhorn again on Monday.

Thanks for the tips guys, the wife has told me that if I do this I will come home to changed locks. The dream has died. Just have to wait for my two trips next year.
