Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Les Houches was good for the dog but at Christmas the 2014 snow hopeless
Argentiere good for the dog but a bit of travel necessary for good skiers
La Tania good for skiers but dog's and walker's knees almost broken beyond repair last year!!
all suggestions gratefully received

@Scrinchy, @Scrinchy, we take ours to Serre Chevalier all the time. There are plenty of walks along the valley for the dog and accompanying non-skier. Restaurants and bars are dog-friendly. Check my signature for more info.

Les Saisies is very good for dog walking, just about the who!e mountain ski area is accessible on foot. On the face of it not a challenging resort for a good skier but the steep stuff is away from the village.

Can't think of anywhere else that comes near and we do 6 or 7 resorts a year in the camper which we bought because of the dog.

@Scrinchy, @Scrinchy, there's also a good motorhome site in Montgenevre, and again plenty of walking. Across the border into Italy too.

Its actually one 2 month trip with a move every 3 to 7 days. Austria is expensive for a long trip because you can't really stay outside campsites, we've stayed at camp in Solden which is very nice but about €40 a night.
The aire at Les Saisies is normally over half full, with 2 or 3 UK vans, and costs €8 a night, there is also a small campsite. You can get a gas bottle delivered from the village store and there is a flotbleu in the adjacent coach park. There are often dog sled teams using some specially prepared trails over the road which are good for a quick walk. You can walk to all 3 mountain tops on footpaths, Mont Bisanne is about 2km and in the opposite direction Mont Vores is a full afternoon roundtrip on dedicated paths. Lots of snowshoe paths through the trees too.
