@clarky999, I'm keen to hear some top tips too. We're heading there early Jan. Skied various hills and resorts around bregenzerwald and schröcken (and the arlberg) before but not montafon - looking forward to it. Got the panico touring guidebook and ogling bergfex for freeride routes - any other beta welcome

The Silvretta tour is a classic and is at the top of the valley. I did it a few years ago but from the Ischgl side.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@Inboard, oops missed the Jan bit. I've skied a lot in Montafon but not for about fifteen years. There was a lot of good off to had and lots of signed ski routes. Gargellen being my favourite.

Any recommendations of good guides/schools etc to go with, outside the ski school (which I am sure is good). Can you suggest good tours for a beginner tourer? Have done a bit of off piste but for some reason want to earn my turns! I'll do it once and never again i'm sure but have to get it out of my head!
