Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Atomic Hawx 110 Prime

Has anyone heard anything apart from manufacturers jargon about these boots? I was looking at them today and what struck me straight away was how light they felt compared to the 110'same that I'very been using for the last couple of years. I usually ski on Magnum Supershapes so the combined package tends to feel a bit have at the end of a hard day so a lighter boot has it's attractions.
Apparently Atomic are using a new material for the shell which not only reduces the weight but is meant to improve fit too.
Haven't tried any on yet.Trying to resist the 300 price tag!

£300 is a good price - they were listed at €450

@esaw1, the Hawx Prime (100mm last) is not much lighter than other models on the market of similar spec... the Hawx ULTRA (98mm last) is significantly lighter (approx weight 1570 g in size 26.5)

from what i know the prime will be even lighter than currently (just like the ultra) in season 18/19 as it is a complete new mould series to change the material / wall thickness and this costs €€€€
