Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Sorry if this is in completely the wrong place (first post and all..)
In 2018 we have decided we want to go to Oberstdorf to watch the ski jumping world cup. I've seen that the 2017 one goes from 03/02 to 05/02, is it likely to be at a similar time next year? (or even in Oberstdorf at all?)
Also, if anyone has experience of going to these events, how far in advance would I need to book a hotel? How would I go about getting tickets?
Thanks if you can answer my ramblings

We went to the 4 hills competition in Innsbruck last year and although lots of people had tickets before getting there, we were able to buy passes on the gate for the saturday. Was very good value and a really good day out!...if a bit cold as you dont really move around much
Can't really answer about a hotel as it was Innsbruck and its always got hotel accomidation
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Went to Holmenkolm one day for the big hill. Great day. Try to get on the area at the end of the jump. You will not believe how they basically fall.

@Abii
, I go the the local event in Engelberg every year, its the last big WC event before the 4 hills I think. Atmosphere is great and tickets are normally available on the day.
Also availability of accommodation in the village is normally not a problem, mind you we have Lucern connected bye train 30 min away, as a back up.
There is normally a local website for the tickets, or the local tourist office in the village will have some, also plenty of B level compititions normally the week after the main event with up and coming stars.
