"Presumably it is intended to relieve congestion on the Sella Ronda"
Would you even use this chair for the Sella Ronda? I thought from Piz Seteur you would ski down the short blue and get the "CITTÀ DEI SASSI" chair??
In fact I just read the article and yes it will be a longer route (on the new chair) allowing you to ski across to the city of stones piste. Be interesting to see which route gets you to the city of stones piste the quickest?

From Piz Setur you should be able to check which lift had the smallest queue. From Piz Sella it would be top choice
I'm looking forward to using it in Jan/Feb nxt year..

They must be running out of projects soon. There carnt be much left to upgrade. They should leave at least one Tbar in situ...... to remind us about the 'good old days'

It reads as though there have been quite a lot of snow making improvements to the Sella Ronda and Alp de Suisa this summer together with three new storage reservoirs. I assume these were already planned, but they are rather timely after the dry start last season.
Interestingly the Dolomites report a 5.5% increase in lift pass sales last year compared to 14/15. Perhaps because of the quality of the snow making early on and then the good natural snow falls after January ?
