Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Donald where's me troosers?

I am having problems finding pair of soft shell "pants" (why have we gone all American for skiwear but not other types of lower limb enclosure?). I thought my criteria were quite straightforward but have tried a number of different makes and cannot find anything that suits. :

1) available in a short leg (29 - 30in)
2) reasonably close fitting to lessen chance of the bottoms catching edges when skinning or using crampons
3) prefereably with reinforced cuffs for when the above happens anyway.

I am getting fed up trekking back to Post Office to return stuff.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Dynafit Mercury DST M Pant. Should fit your criteria. I am about the same inside leg. Nice slim fit.

Thanks SP.

I had a look but the Dynafit medium "short" combines a 34in waist with a 38" inch inside leg!! "Regular" is a mere 40in. Now, I have been to Austria many times but have not noticed that a significant proportion of the population have the morphology of a giraffe! I am sure this cannot be right but will need to find a retailer where I can actually try a pair on.

Rab Exodus....brilliant soft shell pants designed for touring...I wear them more than my hardshell/insulated even in poor conditions....not sure whether they do a short leg....you are supposed to wear them high/Simon Cowell style...
