Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Day trip from tignes to la rosiere

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
As title says. Is it possible to do a day trip from tignes to la rosiere.....without a car. We are out in tignes last week in Feb and have friends that we have found out are in la rod for the same week. We would love to catch up with them but have no transport. Also for those that are in the know is there a lift pass deal between the 2 resorts like there is with les arcs.
Cheers tim

You can get a bus down to Seez from Tignes: https://www.altibus.com/documents/stations/70/navettes.pdf Not sure if there is a minibus from there to the lifts or if you'll have to walk. You should be able to get a discounted day pass for La Ros with your Tignes/Val D week pass too.

@HandyHand, Seez is a long way from La Rosiere. There is a timetable for all the bus routes from Bourg St Maurice.

all is possible - take a 6.30 train from Tignes Val C (same bus leaves La Lac at 6.45) and it comes to BSM at 8.00. Then hop onto 8.10 bus from BSM to La Rosiere and at 9.00 you are in La Rosiere - worht it? Smile 2.5h one way and presumably the same on the way back.

I would rather take taxi as it would take an hour one way I would imagine.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

@rjs ah OK. I thought you might be able to get up to Les Eucadets but on second glance it looks like a bit of hike!

We had a hire car and parked there. It is a long way below La Rosiere - so saves going all the way up there - but has a ticket office, parking right at the chairlift and easy access to La Ros ski area. And the run back down is excellent. However it IS still a fair way above Bourg St M. However, I seem to recall that there is (or was??) a ski bus that goes/went there from BSM??

Taxi from Tignes Van Claret to Les Ecudets lift station should be 40-50 mins. Get your friends to meet there.

Les Ecudets is the lowest access point to La Rosiere ski area, not far above Seez, there's a great red run down through the forest served by the slow chair here. The access road to La Rosiere proper is a long trek up many hairpins up the Petit St Bernard pass road.

La Rosiere ski area is basically a collection of very similar runs down one face of a mountain. I found the Italian side of the ski area above La Thuile to be a lot more interesting & varied, so worth trying to get over there if the weather's right and you can manage it.

Why not get the bus to BSM and meet your friends there to enjoy a days at Les Arcs via the funicular. Admit I have no idea how you get to BSM from La Rosiere. Thus you will bth be doing leg work and they will experience another ski resort. Seems a lot of effort for your guys alone!

There is a free shuttle bus from Bourg station to the Ecudets lift. Only two a day I think.

There is, or was a couple or so years ago, a regular bus service from BSM station to La Ros. Some of my family used it because we could not all get in the 7 seater car with the luggage and shopping we bought at the Super U. Laughing
