Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Does this ski exist?

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
- around 85mm wide
- very good edge grip
- below 20m radius
- if possible, lively rather than very damp

The plan would be for this ski to do double work for touring on lower snow conditions (including icy steep stuff) and for piste skiing (on the relatively limited number of days I stay on piste). I assume I'll need something with carbon for stiffness + lightness - not interested in touring with a metal layer ski nor in piste skiing with ultralight noodles, however amazing they may be on the uphill.

My current skis are either too wide (108-114) or way too heavy (and old) - Kneissl Tankers at 93mm.

plenty offered here that fit this bill:

Blizzard 0G 85
ScottSuperguide 88
Volk VTA series and BMT 90
etc etc

Just look at most brands free tour or tour skis in the 85-95 area - most are very competent on piste skis and in the hands (on the feet) of a good skier will give little to nothing away in real world conditions - unless you are setting out to do Mogul Mania or rails in the park. I think the Blizzard zero G 95 might even have successfully been used in the Eurotest by a candidate?

Superguide 88 or 95. Great ski & great value for money when used with the Scott factory precut skins which are the superb Colltex Whizz skins.

I'd take a good look at the Fischer Ranger 85. I haven't been on them, but lots of very good skiers are really impressed by the Ranger line, and Fischer definitely make quality and powerful skis: https://www.fischersports.com/us_en/ranger-85

Might be worth finding out how much these weigh too: https://www.nordica.com/uk-ireland/mens/skis/all-mountain-mountain-active/navigator/navigator-85-flat

Problem is, given how you ski, I struggle to imagine you enjoying most lightweight-carbony touring skis on piste. Blizzard ZeroG is definitely worth looking at, DPS Cassiar too, maybe Black Crows Ova Freebird (or even the non-Freebird version from previous years, which I think are around 3700g/pair).

Elan ripstick 86, fischer ranger 85 or dynastar mythic 87 would seem to be answering the lively but solid brief.
