Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

My OH thinking about getting them. Any reasons why these bindings would be suboptimal for a female 65kg advanced skier? Weight and din looks fine, she'd be not quite in middle of the range settings. But some websites describe them as mens' bindings - not sure whether that really just means unisex or not...

Puzzled

Thanks for your thoughts.

@Inboard, What is the reason for the choice? Does she need to use touring (Tech/Dynafit) boots in alpine bindings?

Apart from needing to use a binding at the very limits of its DIN settings, which may indicate you have the wrong binding, I am not aware of any requirement to use them in the middle of the DIN settings.

I think that Women's bindings, like Women's skis, are just marketing terms either relating to colour, or that Women are generally shorter/lighter than Men, so bindings have a lower DIN range, or skis are shorter. The 4-13 DIN range should cover the majority of skiers.

I'm not much heavier at 68Kg, and I have my bindings set to 6 or 7.

@PowderAdict, thanks. Apologies for lack of clarity. She uses touring/ freeride boots because we mainly tour, with pin bindings. However we seem to be doing (and anticipating) more lift-served hedonism hence seeking more appropriate bindings that will accommodate a rockered vibram sole.

I'd forgotten I'd instigated a similar thread in May (although on that occasion for my own bindings rather than partner's) which answers many of my concerns. http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=125747&highlight= Unfortunately I've not yet mounted my Wardens or I'd not need to ask!

but to save others their time - I'm happy to consider this question/ thread resolved.

@Inboard, No problem. My memory is as bad as yours, as I posted in that thread as well Smile

@Inboard, Warden is marketed by Salomon as a unisex binding, absolutely no problem as long as it matches her DIN requirments and is the right binding for the type of boot and skiing she does.
