Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Generally one of the busiest weeks of the year. If you find it unbearably crowded get the first lift out in the morning and head for the 4th valley via the Portette lifts

Snow is a crapshoot but generally VT has the best of anywhere in the 3V and you always have the glaciers.

If the liasons are open doing the tour of the 3V is doable by intermediates just get the first lift out. We would treat ourselves to lunch at the Bel Air above Courcheval 1650. Booking in advance is a good idea. Pricey but not outrageous. Great for people watching.

@khaled, TQA has it right. VT is the highest ski resort in Europe, and if anywhere is going to have snow, VT will. Plus they have loads of snowmaking. Most of VT is ski-in & ski-out, and you have a stack of modern high-speed lifts on your door-step.

There is lot's to do — apart from the fab skiing. VT has the highest ZIP-LINE in the world:

And one of the longest Toboggans...

You can see everything VT has to offer here:

And the apres-ski scene is some of the best in the alps. It has the famous La Folie Douce bar half-way up the mountain:

You are going to have a great time!

I was on Courchevel for the week leading up to Christmas last year and made my way over to VT a couple of times. Snow wasn't great (as others say, it's a bit down to chance and last year happened to be bad) but there was plenty of skiing to be had. A few of the lifts that link the resorts were a bit crowded at busy times (early morning, late afternoon) as people made their way across, but I can't remember waiting more than 5-10 minutes.

As TQA said Orelle has some good runs and is worth getting over to if cover is okay. Main downside of VT is if the weather closes in, if that happens then hope that the lifts are open and you can head to Meiribel where there's a bit more tree cover. If you are over that way then the blue down to Meribel Villages was one of my favourite runs, nice and cruisey and tended to be quite quiet.
