Heard that you can ski 'till the end of May in Canada and US, but can not find info and have no idea on the quality that time of year, can you help?

ness1e, Canadian resorts tend to close down due to lack of people rather than lack of snow at that time of year. In the US you'll be OK at Arapahoe Basin but that's not what I'd call the ideal honeymoon destination... anyway, altitude might affect your performance you see!
Mammoth, or more specifically June Mountain, in California should be open. Who can say for sure?
Does it have to be over the pond? Europe's got better, more memorable destinations for that kind of thing. Zermatt maybe.
Otherwise, Himalayas, Caucasus or Sheffield Dry Slope. I know we're all into snowy things here but when it's your nuptules (sp?) your messing with, surely an exotic beach is more the thing.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

ness1e, congratulations.
Mount Hood in Oregon is open all year round. It's a stunning mountain in a stunning area generally. Personal opinion, of course.

gregh, the closest that I've come to Heliskiing is sitting opposite a lady with a "Million Metres" ski suit on in Zermatt.
The lifetime unlimited pass here looks like a bargain! Seriously though their rates don't seem too astronomical.
These guys look quite interesting as well. Current exchange rates would seem to give a price of about £4000 for transport and a week's helisking.
I might have to try it myself.

Alaski heli ski stop 1st May, Valdez last trip seems to end 14th May, which looks a possibility, albeit a chuffing expensive one, could be a lonely 40th birthday

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

May is a tricky month for snowsports.
Its much too early for anywhere in the southern hemisphere... but usually a little too late to catch end of northern season.
How about Scandinavia - maybe the glaciers at Stryn in Norway or Rijkgarson (spelling?) in northern Sweden would be just opening for the summer season. Never been myself - but heard very good things about them.
Yup - still waiting for Scotland will produce the goods this year. Above pic looks like 94 to me.
